G.A.R veterans of 1912 Mulberry Grove

This group of Civil War veterans, for the most part residents of Mulberry Grove and area, was loaned to The Advocate by Mrs. Ollie Matthews of this city whose father, A. N. (Ed.) McKean of Mulberry Grove was a member of the group. What the occasion was for the gathering is not altogether clear, but likely a meeting of members of the Mulberry Grove Post of the G.A.R. It is believed the picture was taken about 1912. The names of those in the photo are on the back of the picture, with

Seated in front: William Chandler.

The front row, left to right: A. N. (Ed) McKean, J. A. Combs, Ike Enloe, Cyrus (Si) Walker, Jonas Disser, Gus Miller, John Sawrey, John Ingram, Wash Woodling.

Back row, left to right: M. J. Robinson, Sam Enloe, Nevels Washburn, Ambrose C. Jett of Greenville, John H. Hawley of Greenville, Richard (Dick) Redding, Hiram Babcock, Ben Riley, William Wilson, Dempsey Cavin, William Glasgow, and Emery (Bub) Enloe.
